Experience
Michelle has had two short stories, When The Music Stops and A Series of Fortunate Events, published by Ether Books. She's also had a radio sketch show broadcast by comedy sketch show THE UNPROFESSIONALS on Bournemouth's Nerve FM and has had four web episodes produced for the comedy web show Mr Vista. Michelle had also had two short films, A Night On The Tiles (commissioned) and Triple Standards (Filmstormers contest), produced.
As well as writing informative screenwriting articles on her successful blog, Sofluid, Michelle has also interviewed industry professionals: script editor Hayley Mckenzie and TV writer Lisa Holdsworth.
Michelle has had encouraging responses from screenwriting opportunities, having become a finalist for the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Screenwriting Award and having qualified in the 2009 and 2010 British Short Screenplay competition. Michelle's entry for the CBBC New Writers contest also got through to the second reading by the Writersroom team.
Michelle also has publishing experience, having been project manager for a fine art exhibition catalogue. Michelle was responsible for all aspects of the publication including fund-raising, advertising, the design of the catalogue cover/layout and proofreading.
Qualifications
Having trained in scriptreading by esteemed writer and editor Lucy Hay of Bang2write scriptreading services, Michelle has since set up her own screenwriting service, Writesofluid, and has also read for the London Screenwriter's Festival, Girls On Film, New Writing South, Hollywood-based Screenplayreaders and Julie Gray's Just Effing Entertain Me contest.
Having been trained by Chapterhouse Publishing in proofreading and copy-editing and by ALISON in English grammar, Michelle is also able to offer proofreading and editing services. She is also a proofreader for Universal Film Magazine, and as a contributing editor for the New Sun Rising Anthology (charity anthology for the Japanese tsunami), Michelle has read and assessed a high quantity of submissions and has acted as a voluntary proofreader/editor.
